REALIZING A VISION APRIL 27 VISIONING DISCUSSION LEADERS

Realizing a Vision of Owning a Business: Dream It and Do It, imagine yourself leading your own business while being a leader in the community or in the world.

The Realizing a Vision’s opening and closing group discussions will be on Visioning Your Path as an Entrepreneur. In fact some of you may find yourself having a vision for more than one business after you get the first launched and moving forward.  It takes a vision to be a business owner. It takes a vision to be a leader.

Our opening Visioning Your Path as an Entrepreneur discussion leaders are Shelly Ehler, founder of ShowNo and Sandy Abrams, author of Your Idea Inc.and CEO of Moisture Jamzz, Inc.  Shelly and Sandy are highlighted on March 24th when we introduced you to our opening visioning session.  Read about them on this Page and also the Post.  The update on Sandy as she expands on her business visions is blogging on a regular basis for Huffington Post and Modern Mom.  Sandy is also being hailed by the entertainment media as a fantastic social community blogger.  She has attended the MTV Awards and Academy Awards for example.  Now that’s a great way to expand on your vision and see it come to pass.

Now our closing group discussion brings together Julie Thorne Engels, founder of Visionbettand Kalika Nacion Yap, founder and CEO of Citrus Studios,Luxe Link and The Waxing Company. Our moderator will be Ella Agilpay Delio,Vice President and Managing Director of Savoir Media™.

Kalika began to do vision boards when she was in middle school.  She continues to do them with all the major events in her life including three businesses.  Julie was first introduced to vision boards upon graduating from college.  While she attended Columbia College it did not give her the direction for a career.  It was then she attended a local “Dare to Dream” workshop.  The images on her vision board told a story of forging her own path vs. following the one outlined by her family full of lawyers, doctors and MBAs.

Walt Disney is known to have said “Build the Castle First” and that is what visioning is all about. Ever since college, Ella has been passionate about helping small and medium-sized enterprises, especially those led by women and which positively impact women. During and after college, she provided pro-bono business advisory services to businesses ran by women or businesses that employed low-income women.  Ella has been helping women realize their visions for many years. That is very much like Julie Thorne Engels has with her business Bettyvision. When you have an idea swirling around in your head long enough it may take a guide like Julie to help make your vision come alive visually.  Kalika’s practice of creating vision boards has helped her create three businesses, very different from each other, yet all from one person’s vision.

Look forward to seeing many of you on April 27th at Realizing a Vision in Los Angeles California at UCLA, Ackerman Union.

Sandy Abrams continually amazes me with her energy and balanced lifestyle for family and business. As well as with all the great opportunities she encounters. Author of Your Idea Inc. Sandy writes about her visioning each time she takes new steps with her business. Imagine meeting Oprah and being connected to Ricki Lake.  Sandy’s visioning  includes keeping lists and adding pictures in her notebook.  Different than Shelly yet other ways to accomplish the same results. I am really  looking forward to their session to remind myself of how gratifying visioning can be.

Your Idea Inc

Ana Rivas, a former member of the Girl’s CEO Connection™ Young Women Leadership Advisory team used visioning to keep her goal and vision of creating a fashion magazine in front of her. Ana became co-founder of The Style Shenanigans while in high school. She is now a freshman at Pasadena City College in Pasadena California  Ana attended the first two  Realizing a Vision conferences while in high school.
